Day 13 - the Australian Development Team

We were very exited to have our first whole day of National team Korfball. Saturday, a training with the Australian Open selection, training with the U19 and two matches.

Morning session started with a training together with the U19 selection squad. We even gained some players from last week clinics who showed their interest in korfball. A full session of training skills, tactics and a final match where player from the PromoTour were playing together with the Aussies. All players enjoyed it and a  lot of the players showed progression already in one hour!

The second training session consisted of the Open squad, at least those people who showed interest in the open squad. Working on timing, shot under pressure and cooperation in the korf zone we managed to used the two hours of training at the maximum.

After a good lunch at the house of one of the squad members we went to the next venue, The Martin Courts, where we played a fast game together with the U19 and we played an official game against the Australian Team. After the first 15 minutes the Orange team took advantage of their shooting skills and  the half time was 18-7 in favor of the guests from Europe. Good pressure and fast interaction gave the Europeans a comfortable lead half way the second half. After the time-out in the 46th minutes the Australian team gained a 3-2 advantage in the final quarter of the game. final result 29-11 in favor of the European Orange team.

The evening program was closed by a united diner at the Whitmore Hotel where guests enjoyed live music from the local Daze gone bye and some special guest from abroad.
